The PlayMatters System Actors Conference, organized by the PlayMatters Consortium and hosted by the Ministry of Education Ethiopia, will be held on August 29th-30th, 2024. This year’s theme, “Achieving Quality Education by Teaching & Learning through Play,” aims to deepen the understanding and implementation of Learning through Play (LtP) in classrooms. The conference will highlight policy impact success stories and explore opportunities for expanding reach, enhancing quality service provision, and ensuring the sustainability of LtP within national structures.

Key objectives include:

1. Establishing a shared understanding of LtP practices from teachers’ perspectives and their effectiveness in promoting children’s wellbeing, development, and learning outcomes.
2. Sharing best practices for standardizing and harmonizing teaching methodologies and resources for national integration, scale, and sustainability of LtP.
3. Exploring further integration of PlayMatters methods across local and national education and refugee-hosting systems.

This event will bring together high-level decision-makers and experts from government institutions, humanitarian agencies, and organizations at local, national, and regional levels. It aims to share LtP experiences, harness opportunities for standardized LtP integration, and strengthen collaborative efforts for sustainable and durable solutions.
